1. Snow Much Fun at Rolling Hills Country Park

2. The Wayne County Lightfest in Hines Park

Head to Hines Park at 7651 North Merriman Road in Westland, 15 miles from Ypsilanti, from the middle of November to the end of December for the annual Wayne County Lightfest, the longest drive-through light display in Michigan.

Drive down a four-mile winding road to admire the spectacular Christmas light show created by more than 100,000 colored sparkling lights and uncover nearly 50 dazzling animated presentations around the curves. Lightfest is held on Wednesdays to Sundays between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.

3. Sledding, Cross-Country Skiing, and Snowshoeing

If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, the 439-acre Rolling Hills Country Park at 7660 Stony Creek Road in Ypsilanti is ideal in winter. It is the ultimate destination for sledding down the 275 feet hill, the highest sledding hill in Ypsilanti, cross-country skiing on three miles of groomed trails, and snowshoeing to see the breathtaking snowy landscape.

4. Outdoor Ice Skating at Buhr Park

Take an eight-mile drive to Ann Arbor to glide over the ice at the Buhr Park Ice Arena at 2751 Packard Road until the end of March.
