Navigating the 2024 Honda Warranty: What You Need To Know
New Car Limited Warranty
This covers almost all components in your vehicle, except those covered by one of the other warranties. Any defect to a part or component covered by this warranty will be repaired by a Honda dealer with no charge for parts or labor. The warranty applies for the first three years or 36,000 miles.
Certain types of damage are not covered by this warranty. Some of the coverage exclusions include normal wear and tear, accidental damage, the use of incorrect fuel, or unofficial repairs made using non-Honda-approved components. The exclusions are all listed in the warranty booklet.
Powertrain Warranty
The powertrain comprises your engine, transmission, transaxle, and FWD or RWD systems and all their components. Some of the protected components include the timing gears, intake and exhaust manifolds, the transmission case and all its components, and the final drive housing and internal parts. Parts that are not covered can be found in the warranty booklet.
This warranty applies for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. As in the warranty above, damage caused to any warrantied component by one of the excluded situations is not protected.
Federal Emissions Warranty
Your Honda is designed to meet all the emissions control requirements required by the Environmental Protection Agency. This warranty covers all the components in your emissions control system. Most of the components are protected against any defect for three years or 36,000 miles. Some components, like the transmission control unit, engine control unit, and catalytic converter, have extended coverage for eight years or 100,000 miles.
Seat Belt Limited Warranty
This warranty protects your seat belts and seat belt system for fifteen years or 150,000 miles.
Rust Perforation Limited Warranty
Perforation is rust or corrosion that eats through a metal panel and forms a hole. In the unlikely event of rust or corrosion, the affected body panel will be replaced. This warranty protects all your Honda’s body and sheet metal for the first five years and unlimited mileage.
Hybrid Powertrain Limited Warranty
If you have a hybrid vehicle, this warranty protects its unique components in addition to the coverage provided by the warranties above.
